ABOUT THE NASHVILLE BOTANICAL GARDEN
JOIN the movement
A small but growing cohort of Nashville citizens are intent on bringing a botanical garden to Nashville…. A master plan is in the works for a new urban garden that will prioritize accessibility, education, and environmental sustainability and highlight the uniqueness of Nashville and the state of Tennessee. It will take a community approach and support from a broad group of stakeholders to turn this concept into a reality for our city.
Nashville is fortunate enough to have so many wonderful parks and greenspaces, but we are the only major city in the U.S. without a botanical garden. Imagine what it would be like if we could build a beautiful botanical garden right in the heart of the city – accessible to all.

How will a Botanical Garden impact Nashville?
Infinite returns to the community
Botanical Gardens give back by increasing foot traffic to area businesses, serve as a resource for local schools for curriculum-based and hands-on experiential programs, provide citizens with the mental health benefits of time spent in a natural environment, and so much more.
AN INCLUSIVE OASIS
An invaluable community space that is open and accessible to everyone. A relaxed landing spot for residents and visitors to connect with nature... a destination for cyclists, walkers, and runners... a special occasions and performance venue… an outdoor learning center for students, amateur botanists, home gardeners, and world class universities.
A GREENSPACE IN TIMES OF GROWTH
A botanical garden would preserve a large swath of greenspace during this period of intense development in Nashville, helping to ensure that this era of unprecedented growth benefits all citizens and preserves our city’s commitment to its aesthetic values
